In an article for Citylab.com, Eric Jaffe lays out the case for why individuals in charge of transit systems should ride transit, and what problems stem from them not doing so right now.
“There are way too many people working on transit who don’t actually ride transit,” Christof Spieler says. “If you’re going to be making decisions about transit, you really need to know what it’s actually like. Not what it’s like in theory, but what it’s actually like. ”

Some Guelph City Councillors have taken the Transit Challenge. I am hopeful we can see transit managers do the same.
