Four additional GO trains start running to & from Guelph on September 6th

There will be two more morning and afternoon GO trains during peak travel times between Kitchener and Toronto starting September 6th.

The increased GO train service is actually an extension of 2 existing GO trains that currently end in Georgetown. One of these trains will be an Express that will skip several stations which will reduce the travel time between Kitchener and Toronto.

Currently, there are two trains from the Kitchener station in the morning. The 5:49 a.m. train arrives at Toronto Union Station at 7:52 a.m and the 7:10 a.m. train arrives at 9:13 a.m. Two return trains depart from Toronto at 4:50 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., arriving at the Kitchener station at 6:57 p.m. and 7:57 p.m

More Trains including an Express Run

The new schedule has trains leaving Kitchener as early as 5:24 a.m. and arriving back as late as 9:00 pm weeknights. Two of these trips, one going toward Union at 6:04 a.m; and one going toward Kitchener at 4:50 p.m., will be express to and from Bramalea Go Station shaving around 12 minutes off the all stops schedule.

Hourly Bus service will continue to connect to all-day trains at Mount Pleasant GO Station.

GO is also introducing an Express Bus to and from Kitchener GO Station and its Downtown Bus Terminal to connect to these all-day trains at Bramalea Go Station.

All Day GO Bus service with Train connections continue from last fall

Hourly GO Buses departing Guelph Central Station connecting to GO Trains at Mount Pleasant leave at the following times:

Guelph Central Station (Bus Departs 10 minutes earlier from University of Guelph)
4:35, 5:40*, 6:40*, 7:35, 8:30, 9:35, 10:35, 11:35 A.M., 12:35, 1:35, 2:22 P.M.

Mount Pleasant GO (Train Depart) – Train Travel time is about 1 hour.
5:55, 6:48*, 7:46*, 9:00, 9:55, 11:00 A.M, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 3:52 P.M.

*Meets train/bus at Georgetown GO

Bus connections from Mount Pleasant GO depart to Guelph at:

Guelph Transit GO Shuttle and Co-Fare

The Guelph Transit shuttle schedule will have to be reviewed and revised as there is no Guelph Transit buses running when the first train departs at 5:48 a.m. All other morning trains can be easily accommodated by existing Guelph Transit routes and schedules.  has been updated and you can read it here.

The new evening express train that arrives at 6:13 p.m. will leave approx. 2 minutes for a large number of riders to try to connect to Guelph Transit. This too should be looked at as this train will be very popular.

All other evening trains will have ample time for riders to connect to a Guelph Transit bus home.
goshuttleThe .60 cent co-fare window will have to be expanded to end at 8:45 p.m. instead of 7:45 p.m. to accommodate that last train arriving at 8:25 p.m. has been updated and you can read it here.

As well, a policy should be put into place when trains are late due to weather or other issues to allow riders to take the bus still at the co-fare rate.

New Bus Connections for Cambridge and Milton

Also new this fall, GO Transit will provide a weekday Bus connections between the Downtown Cambridge Terminal to Milton GO Trains.

Morning trips will leave the Cambridge Bus terminal on Ainslie Street at 5:44 a.m., 6:09 a.m., 6:37 a.m. and 7:16 a.m., and there will be stops along Hespeler Road as well as at Pinebush Road and Regional Road 25 at Highway 401. The bus will then travel express to Milton where commuters can connect with the train at 6:44 a.m., 7:14 a.m., 7:47 a.m., 8:26 a.m. arriving in Toronto about an hour later.

There will be two early afternoon buses leaving Milton GO at 1:45 p.m. arriving in Cambridge at 2:45 p.m. and at 3:05 p.m., arriving at 4:15 p.m.

In the evening, there will be buses connecting to the trains that depart Union at 4:10 p.m., 5:25 p.m., 6:25 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. with bus connections departing Milton GO at 4:10 p.m., 5:09 p.m., 6:24 p.m., and 7:24 p.m. arriving at the Ainslie Street Bus Terminal about an hour later.

Two late evening trips will leave Milton GO at 8:09 p.m., arriving at 9:02 p.m., an at 10:00 p.m., terminating at the Cambridge Bus Terminal at 10:50 p.m.

Guelph commuters wishing to go to Milton GO and Downtown Milton can do so by taking Route 29 (Guelph – Mississauga-Square One) and transferring to/from the Cambridge-Milton Bus at the Regional Road 25 at Highway 401(Milton Park and Ride). Note: Weekday service between Cooksville GO and Square One will be discontinued.
